China furious over Quad meeting, said - Quad is like a tool to rein in China
China has said that the Quad coalition is a "tool"
to prevent it from moving forward and that it is a deliberate move to intensify
the confrontation, which will not succeed. This statement of China came at a
time when a meeting regarding Quad was held in China yesterday. External Affairs
Minister Dr S Jaishankar also participated in the Foreign Ministers' meeting of
the Quad countries in Melbourne, Australia. Along with this, he also held
separate meetings with the Defense Minister of Australia and the Foreign
Ministers of America and Japan. Jaishankar went to Australia for the first time
as foreign minister.
Actually, the quad includes India, Australia, America and
Japan. China has territorial disputes with several countries in the
strategically important Indo-Pacific region and has been opposing the Quad
alliance since its formation. Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian
said at a press conference here, "China believes that the so-called Quad
group formed by the United States, Japan, India and Australia is a tool to
encircle China and maintain American hegemony." .''
'America's step to provoke China is Quad'
Responding to a question about the Quad foreign ministers
starting talks in Melbourne, Australia, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Zhao
Lijian said at a press conference here, "China believes that the Quad
mechanism is only a way to control it." It is a tool." He said,
"It is a deliberate move to provoke conflict and undermine international
solidarity and cooperation." and any attempt to forge a coalition aimed at
deterring China will not succeed," he said when asked about US Secretary
of State Antony Blinken's statement that China was acting more aggressively in
the region. Zhao said, "the remarks made by the American politician are
nothing but a repetition of a political lie."
Ahead of the Quad foreign ministers' meeting, Zhao said on
Wednesday that China rejects any move to create a special bloc and provoke
confrontation. "We hope that the United States and other relevant
countries will understand the course of the times, have the right mindset and
abandon the Cold War mentality," he said.
